Born in Avellino, Italy, in 1956, Arcangelo enrolled at the School of Fine Arts in Rome in 1976, graduating in 1980. He lives and works in Milan and San Nazzaro, Benevento, Italy.
All Arcangelo’s work, writes Ivan Quaroni, “is based on casting down roots, on the sense of belonging, and on sharing of the cultural heritage of the Sannites, which he extends and transforms to include the heritages of other places and other peoples”. An affection for his place of origin which “evolves and transforms into something more powerful and universal, generating a type of painting with a ‘global’ vocation, abounding in evocations of Africa and the Near East, the Mediterranean, far-off China and beyond”.
Arcangelo Esposito is represented by Galerie Tanit Beirut/Munich.
