Galerie Tanit is looking for a motivated candidate to join the team in Beirut
as a Logistics & Operations Officer on a full-time basis starting beginning of April 2023

TASKS
1- Packing and preparing works of art for shipment
2- Managing international transportation and customs procedures as artworks are shipped to temporary exhibitions, such as overseas art fairs
3- Following up on the location of works, and communicating with shippers, art handlers, suppliers and insurers
4- Preparing works for gallery exhibitions
5- Writing condition reports
6- Maintaining the art gallery’s digital inventory and keeping track of each artwork’s movement
7- Maintaining order and good condition in the gallery’s storages
8- Managing the gallery’s schedule for artwork viewings and shipping
9- Handling the exhibitions’ installation and deinstallation: Artwork hanging, lighting installation, preparation of space, and artwork storing
10- Managing and overseeing loans of artwork to other institutions
11- Caring for and preserving works of art
12- Drafting relevant documents such as commercial invoices, proof of delivery, proof of exit, consignment agreements…
13- Keep track, maintain order of, and operate tools and equipment (Projectors, light spots and flooders, construction and hanging tools, etc…)
14- Carrying out annual inventory checklist and provide detailed reports
15- Assisting in admin duties as required
PROFILE
1- You are interested and knowledgeable in contemporary art and culture
2- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator). Additional software knowledge is a plus
3- You have good motor skills, know your way around power-tools and are not afraid of handling artworks as well as lifting heavy objects
4- You are friendly, polite, detail-oriented and motivated
5- You easily communicate in French, English and Arabic
6- You work well in a team
REQUIREMENTS
1- Bachelor degree in art-related field
2- Previous work experience in a similar position is a plus
3- Punctuation and commitment to the gallery’s schedule
4- Presentable and professional
5- Respectful of confidentiality
6- Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hour
