Espace Kettaneh Kunigk (Tanit) presents from June 7, 2012 till July 6, 2012 the paintings of the Lebanese artist Elie Philippe (Pony) Schehade.
To look at a painting by Elie Philippe Schehade, is like listening to music, tasting a new flavor, or just going with the imagination as on the back of an unruly horse! Indeed, Elie Philippe is called Pony by his friends and relatives.
His classical grounding does nothing to obstruct his abstract work, he expresses his intuition, his vision of life, his aesthetic sense and the notion of "Paint". The composition of his paintings is often based on a "decomposition", fragments of a whole scattered here and there - Breathing better that way! - A density that spreads and seems to exceed the physical surface of the canvas, joining a symbolism emphasized by the selected titles! The colors deliberately chosen as little garish make this abstract art very "civilized" and decorative, without evading the innovative and artistic dimenssion, as well as the metaphysical aspect of the work of this complete artist, if there is any.
His works are distributed in many private collections throughout the world, Europe, North Africa, United States, Mexico or Canada, and also in public landmarks, including a series of fifteen paintings in the Guests' Palace of Qatar - UAE.
