"My artform is the short journey, made by walking in the landscape"
1969: Walks made in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, the United States, Canada, Peru, Nepal, India, Australia, Japan, Lapland, Mexico, Iceland, Germany, Spain and Portugal.
"The physical involvement from walking creates a receptiveness to the landscape. I walk on the land to be woven into nature. [...] A walk has a life of its own and does not need to be made into a work of art. [...] The artwork cannot re-present the experience of a walk. The flow of influences should be from nature to me, not from me to nature..."
