"What interests me the most is the fact that when an object, like a goal post is placed in a museum, it becomes an 'image'. It enables one to invent a whole story about it, to write about it. I mean that the object has become of intellectual interest, of a 'high' profile, a work of art in a civilization. Still I want the 'image' to survive outside the museum in a non-artistic environment like a soccer field. [...]
Most of the art this century can only communicate when protected by the white walls of a museum. It has always been my ambition not to depend completely on this kind of protection."
